Everyone is Perfection in Imperfection
Each of us, regardless of status, appearance, and occupation, is much wider and deeper than that in which he can manifest himself. Evaluating someone from our own experience and not knowing anything about the life of this person, we must understand that these judgments are stupid and ridiculous.
In order to become truly happy, you need to learn to love in yourself (and those around you) some unrevealed secret, a unique bunch of past, present, and future. It is necessary to learn to accept yourself with all your shortcomings and imperfections – in order to always be yourself regardless of anyone’s opinion. This is the only way to start working on yourself – is it really necessary to improve what you do not like?
Striving for personal excellence, you need to know that there is not a single person who would always and in any situation have power over himself, his emotions and actions.
For example, many people who are very good at communicating and who do not lose control in the most dangerous situations can do nothing when you need to stop in front of a glass or force yourself to do it. One loses self-control in an exam, the other in public speaking, the third in an intimate situation, the fourth in communication with a single person. That is, each of us has its own spheres of least and greatest control.
Each one determines his own measure of control. Often, even a certified psychologist can determine these features of a particular individual only after he has analyzed his life from early childhood, taking into account heredity, upbringing and the specificity of the environment.
In order to better understand himself, the author recommends taking into account some common truths to which he came while studying his own and others’ mistakes:
- To change yourself in the desired direction, you need to constantly study yourself.
- Without trying to change himself, a person will not study his nature.
- To study yourself, you need to study (with the same interest as to yourself) at least one more person.
- You can not study a person without emotions – in such cases, his nature begins to resist knowledge, as violence. To understand a person, one must sincerely want to help him.
- One can understand oneself and others only by studying the characteristics of a person who manifests himself in activity and communication.
- Study and self-study can never be completed because a person is an “open system”, the elements of which are constantly changing. Man, more than any other being, “becomes” and not “is.”
The Logic That Applies to Both Women and Men
There is always something in our head that we do not know. Our subconscious mind is either ahead of consciousness or sometimes lagging for a long time – with a certain logic that allows us to foresee ourselves. Paradoxical conditions – the scourge of our century, the circle of the absolute. In a sense, a person can be compared to a machine gun. Our existence is supported by the biochemical machine of the body, which very little depends on our will. The cells of the body synthesize and break down something, the blood renews the bone marrow, the kidneys and liver perform their functions. All these units are not launched by our will, and so does our consciousness, which produces our feelings, thoughts, and decisions, based on many interpersonal patterns.
An automaton, having realized its automatism, already ceases to be just a machine – penetrating into the essence of things and seeing cause-effect chains, a person gets the opportunity to count and change himself.
In our actions and impulses, there is always a number of steps – from the level of absolute unconsciousness to full awareness. The internal organs of a person work unconsciously; unconsciously, people toss and turn in a dream, imitate others, strive for pleasure or suffering. Subconsciously, a person worries about the future (without any reason for this), experiences forbidden drives; deliberately stores
money in a bank, dresses warmly in cold weather, takes medicine or quits smoking. The boundaries between these steps are very blurred and it is not always possible to notice how they turn into each other and to say how a person thinks and thinks at a particular moment – consciously or unconsciously.
The work of our subconscious can be foreseen, understanding how the Circle of the Absolute is arranged. Our brain decomposes all the information received at different levels. In the center is an area that can be attributed to the Circle of Absolute Faith. The following are the spheres of Reliable, Doubtful, Unlikely, Incredible (all definitions are conditional and can be supplemented).
The Circle of the Absolute is what we believe in – mind, logic, feelings. Those ideas and impressions that can turn into our states. In each of us, subject to a choice, a “YES-NO machine” is turned on. For example, when something is offered to you at a table, the brain analyzes the internal processes for the first few seconds to form a “yes” or “no” signal. This mechanism is universal and helps a person answer questions about whether you are hungry or not, whether you are able to jump over a ditch or write an article. This subconscious self-foresight occurs in us continuously, creating some paradoxical states.
This model becomes clear when considering the following situation. You need to go along a log that lies on the ground (medium thickness) and you easily do it. But, if you raise the log to a dangerous height, you will not go on it (unless you have special training). Why? You stop believing that you can do it, and the fear that has arisen can really lead to the fact that you fall. The subconscious has its own unconscious logic – both in perception and in action. A paradoxical situation is created – the understanding of “that you cannot fall” increases the likelihood of a fall.
Not a Day Without Auto-training and Self-hypnosis
What is auto-suggestion? This is an inconspicuous but constantly operating mechanism of the psyche that helps to redistribute internal meanings, reveal hidden reserves, prolong life and make it brighter and more saturated.
The main self-suggestions of the day begin for each person when he wakes up in the morning. The woman, preening herself in front of the mirror, intensely inspires herself that she is attractive, and the driver, walking towards the car, is already gaining confidence in the subconsciousness of his professionalism and vigilance on the road. In any situation, we “win” ourselves, reality becomes the greatest hypnotist, whose main agent is the human environment.
I choose myself – I’m lying, but I can get up at any moment. I have the opportunity to change my posture whenever I want – choosing from “various spaces of degrees of freedom” of my body. The mental states of the individual can be compared with the same spaces.
Self-hypnosis is a force that acts in the space of freedom of the psyche, taking nothing from nothing but only increase the likelihood of one of the possible conditions. This is a redistribution of internal meanings, a conscious or subconscious choice of oneself.
At the same time, feelings should not be too easily controlled. If with a single memory of a fever, we could raise our body temperature, or, while reading Gorky’s novel, experience pain with his heroine, we would become like robots and we would not need music, poetry or theater. But feelings can still be controlled using auto-suggestion, ordering the necessary conditions. Examples of such psychological games can be seen in companies that warm themselves and the public to the necessary state of fun. Semi-subconsciously ordering themselves to be cheerful, people begin to look for ways to this state, the so-called “Unlocking keys” (jokes, jokes). Artists also “turn on” themselves by connecting auto-training (AT) and inspiring themselves with the necessary emotions.
In order to create the necessary emotion in oneself, a person seeks to develop in his consciousness a form of knowledge that lives at that moment in the form of confidence in knowledge.
The bridge between the consciousness and the subconscious is thrown, the enumeration of options begins – to select the most optimal one. These processes are similar to solving a difficult task – when we think about a problem for a long time and then let it go – after a while, the solution comes up – it pops up by itself. The same thing happens with AT – when we order the conditions we need, after a while, we begin to feel them.
It is difficult to comprehend the nature of auto-suggestion because it almost always intertwines with other, more obvious forces. You can hope for it, but not try to give in to calculation. One of the most striking examples of auto-suggestion is treatment. Most often, with the same diagnosis and taking the same drugs, the condition of the patients can radically differ. Why? Most often it is a matter of psychology – one patient believes in the success of treatment, and the other does not.
Self-hypnosis acts when there is a choice of “either-or.” In order for it to have an effect, it takes a little time – to infiltrate the subconscious, mobilize internal reserves, create a chain reaction – and all this before the opposite acting agent begins to influence it.
Scientists have long proved the fact that animals have yogic abilities. Rats, cats, and dogs can increase or decrease their heart rate, blood pressure, blood flow, and more. etc. – in order to get food or to avoid pain.
Foreign doctors, in the same way, experimented with the abilities of people – those who agreed to pass the test were asked to influence the readings in any way. In most cases, the subjects achieved the desired result over time – by adjusting their heart rate or pressure level, they influenced the testimony
appliances. An interesting fact is that for different people it was a different state – someone was swinging the “inner pendulum”, someone was trying to relax or cause a strong emotion. The main thing was to find exactly that state, which then could be remembered, reproduced again and developed. Going through your internal states, through trial and error, you can find the same state using the “poke” method (the main thing is to have feedback that would signal a change in functions).
To overcome anger in oneself is much more difficult for one who has not yet realized such a sin in himself, and for someone who has already learned, it is much easier.
Knowing who your true enemy is and what you should fight against in annoying and unpleasant situations, you need to go not against chance or circumstances, but first of all, against your own anger.
And the anger will be overcome, and the circumstances and cases that produced the anger will disappear of their own accord.
What is Autotraining and How to Start Self-improvement Correctly?
Autotraining (AT) is the conscious control of the unconscious. In order to inspire yourself with something, you need a sober introspection and a clear statement of the internal problem.
Even those who read about AT for the first time do not suspect that they are somehow engaged in self-hypnosis from time to time. For the first time, the nature of this phenomenon began to be studied by a German psychotherapist in the 20-30s of the last century. Inspiring his patients with a state of rest or sleep, he noticed that they could inspire themselves in the same state. And the better they succeeded, the faster the process of treating various neuroses. Since then, many doctors have been studying this area and are developing various methods of “self-hypnosis” or “autogenic training.”
Most people cannot control themselves for the reason that they cannot always understand what is happening to them and why “carries them”. Starting to be aware of his condition, a person can not only make a “diagnosis”, but is also able to overcome it.
In order to evaluate your position, consider options and make the next move, you must clearly set the internal task. To do this, you need to understand what is the “internal enemy” (laziness, lethargy, inertia, insecurity in the communication). Then create your “I-project” – those qualities that need to be developed – the ability to work, optimism, confidence, etc.
The ability to focus on introspection develops in an ordinary person by about 12 years old, and already from this age, you can begin to engage in AT. There is no firm age group for such occupations – some even adults still cannot learn to determine their motives or get rid of the excessive influence of those around them. Such people are encouraged to start with group classes.
For auto-training, there are some limitations:
- the presence of acute developing infectious, mental or vascular diseases;
- in case of disorders of the cardiovascular system, you should consult your doctor before taking AT exercises;
- tendency to excessive uncertainty or tension – in such cases, at the initial stages it is advisable to ask for outside support.
If you act carefully and consistently, gradually increasing the requirements for yourself, you will succeed! Listen carefully to yourself — voices from the depths of our being. These are complaints and offers of organisms, requests and orders of the brain.
Exercises to be free to talk to
Breathing is the most powerful lever of good mood and tone. Respiratory auto-training helps both in communication and in private with oneself. A change in breathing is a signal and preparation for change inactivity. Different emotions manifest in our breathing in different ways – when you are amazed, a person takes a short, sharp breath, expressing contempt – a short exhalation, when excited, the breath becomes deep and quickened. You need to understand that breathing is a semi-arbitrary function, and by properly managing it, you can learn to control your speech.
Rest is not the only relaxation. Rest is an occupation that frees a person from heavy breathing, giving his soul an outlet. It’s easy to focus on breathing, the main thing, as with muscles, is to control your tone. In order to relieve tension, many doctors simulate relief sighs that make it possible to “erase” the tension.
By Learning to Create Such Moments, You Can Make Them a System and Have Fun (Refreshment and Soothing).
Learning how to control your breathing, you can conduct micro-AT in any situation – for example, when you need to protect yourself from various external influences (rudeness or aggression). When the breath is held, which is associated with negative conditions, each autotraining should begin with the release of breathing and then to the dropping muscle clamps. Over time, free-breathing will become the norm and background of life, providing a sense of confidence and peace.
For relaxation, the so-called “Sleepy breathing” – its rhythm is less frequent and deeper than that of an awake person. If you begin to breathe in the reverse order, like a sleeping person, you can enter a state similar to a dream. “Sleepy breathing” is an extreme degree of freedom, a natural rhythm of rest, which can be used to accelerate falling asleep or complete relaxation.
In order to establish communication with others, you must also learn to work with your voice. A quiet uncertain voice will not cause respect for the interlocutor, and in order to feel more determined, you need to develop your vocal cords. How? Shout! Demosthenes often retreated into the field or forest and yelled that there are forces. Such regular exercises strengthen the respiratory-vocal muscle apparatus and the feedback between it and the brain. By “printing out” your voice, you will get rid of the excitement in public speaking and communicating with strangers, such exercises will also be useful to those who suffer from neurotic stuttering.
The Final Words
Want to be happy and healthy?
This book is one of the best practical guides in psychology – it describes the methods used by the best experts in this field. With the help of auto-training, you can treat mental disorders and chronic diseases, you can learn to be happy and calm, completely change your personal life, achieve success in building a career and business.
Love yourself as your neighbor! Remember that self-love is the first duty of a person, he is scary, not loving himself. Anyone who loves himself, without breaking and doubting, is charming, kind and open, does not require constant self-determination, is not afraid of ridicule and condemnation of others.
Treat people you know as strangers, and strangers as your loved ones, and you will become the most charming person in the world. Strive to understand your interlocutor (become a “secret psychologist” for him) – learn to experience greedy, continuous and selfless attention to him.
A man needs both fantasies and illusions, the main thing is that they do not begin to control his life, and he – begins to control them, and through them – to control himself.
Be attentive to your joys, take care and grow them like a professional gardener. Do not neglect anything – the more joy you have, the more you will give it to people who also need it.
Do not be afraid to lose your “I”! It is already constantly changing under the influence of various circumstances and internal causes. And do not be afraid of your imagination, let your fantasies grow stronger and affect your whole life!
Remember that the attitude of others towards you directly depends on what you expect from them. In just a few seconds, there is a “fluid exchange”, codes of involuntary facial expressions and intonation, signals from the subconscious to the subconscious. Expecting a bad attitude and ridicule, you are likely to get them. And vice versa, knowing that you are loved and experiencing a feeling of sincere gratitude for this, you will be surprised at the warmth and cordiality of your communication.
